Social Impact Initiatives

Charity Project Contest

The Charity Contest has been organised every year since 2018. It offers a unique opportunity to propose meaningful projects from NGOs, aimed at supporting social causes and making a positive impact in the communities where the company operates. Participants can submit project ideas, which are then voted on to determine the initiatives that resonate most strongly. The projects with the highest number of votes receive generous contributions from the company, empowering organisations to further their missions and bring about lasting positive change in these communities. For more information about this initiative please visit Cátedra de Autismo – Sevilla

Chair of Autism at the University of Seville

Many of the initiatives are focused on supporting individuals with disabilities. A key example is Befesa’s sponsorship of the Chair of Autism at the University of Seville. This initiative aims to promote education and interdisciplinary research related to autism spectrum disorders, with the goal of improving understanding and developing better support systems for individuals with autism.

Befesa Runs! Wings for Life World Run

Wings for Life World Run is a global race with a unique twist: instead of a finish line, participants are chased by a “Catcher Car” that starts moving after they begin. The car gradually speeds up, and each runner’s race ends once they’re overtaken. This format allows people of all fitness levels to participate and go as far as they can.

All entry fees and donations go directly to spinal cord research through the Wings for Life Foundation, making the event a major fundraiser for finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. Employees and their families are invited to join the team. Befesa covers the registration fee for family members and increases its donation from €1 to €5 for every kilometer run or walked.

Wellbeing Initiatives

World Health Day

On World Health Day, Befesa joined the WHO´s “Health for All” campaign. This initiative reminded employees of the importance of prioritising their health and wellbeing. Each employee received an anti-stress ball, providing a reminder to practice self-care, maintain a balanced diet, get sufficient sleep, focus on mental health and nurture a healthy work-life balance.

Befesa Step Challenge – Moving Together for Wellbeing

The Befesa on the Move Challenge is a month-long step-counting competition designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle, strengthen team spirit, and support social causes.

Employees across Befesa are invited to walk as much as possible, with the goal of becoming “Step Masters.” To ensure a fair competition, companies are ranked based on the average number of steps per participant—so every step counts, regardless of company size.

In recent editions, over 500 colleagues have participated, collectively walking the equivalent of nearly two laps around the globe.

The winning company earns more than bragging rights: they make a donation to a local NGO and enjoy a healthy team breakfast. The second- and third-place teams are also rewarded with a healthy breakfast for all participants at their location. In addition, the top ten individual steppers receive a sports backpack as a token of appreciation.

At Befesa, we’re stepping up for wellbeing—together.
