Befesa's 2006 annual report receives "In Accordance" classification from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is an international agreement to promote the preparation of sustainability and corporate social responsibility reports. It helps organisations to articulate their contributions to sustainable development while also helping interested parties to interpret them.

The preparation of the reports is voluntary and is designed to allow organisations to communicate the economic, environmental and social aspects of their activities, products and services.

This classification has been given after a review of the Befesa 2006 Annual Report which has been prepared in accordance with the GRI 2002 guidelines for the first time.

To comply with GRI 2002 guidelines, the contents of a corporate social responsibility report must be:

  • Vision and strategy
  • Profile of the organisation
  • Governance structure and management systems
  • GRI content index
  • Economic, environmental and social performance indicators

Befesa is incorporating indicators that measure its actions in economic, environmental and social areas. The preparation of this type of report gives us an overview of our actions.
