Befesa receives ISO 9001:2000 certification and renewal of ISO 14001:2004

In December last year, Befesa Perú S.A., the only company in the country authorized by the DIGESA of the Ministry of Health, received the ISO 9001:2000 certificate awarded by the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR), accredited by the European Union’s ENAC. This certificate licenses Befesa for the collection, transportation and final disposal in safety dumps of industrial wastes, construction industry wastes, hazardous agro-fishery wastes and wastes from especially hazardous installations or activities.

The Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (AENOR) also renewed Befesa Perú S.A’s ISO 14001:2004 certificate for the Environmental Management System the company has implemented.

Befesa Perú S.A’s General Manage, Jorge Carlos Leon, stated that the achievements have been possible thanks to the responsible attitude and commitment of the company’s entire workforce.

The ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates clearly demonstrate the quality of the service provided by Befesa Perú S.A., and the high degree of responsibility with which the company operates to contribute to environmental preservation.

Befesa Perú S.A. is the first and only company in the country to have been authorized by the Directorate General of Environmental Health (DIGESA) of the Ministry of Health for the treatment and final disposal of hazardous industrial wastes.
