Befesa to give a prize to the best doctoral thesis on environmental issues at the University of Seville

The purpose of the award, which includes a €3,000 prize to be presented at a public event at the start of 2007, is to reward the technological research work of a doctoral thesis carried out at the University of Seville on a subject with special relevance to the protection and recovery of the environment, related to one of the following issues: rational use of natural resources; treatment of all types of raw materials and solid, liquid or gaseous wastes of an urban or industrial origin, including recycling, recovery and elimination; prevention, treatment, control and removal of emissions, spills and solid, liquid or gaseous wastes of an urban or industrial origin; procedures and facilities related to the aforementioned activities, as well as their operation or use, including engineering, infrastructure construction, management, environmental and heritage aspects.

The application submission period runs from 2 November to 2 pm on 30 November. The prize is open to anyone that fulfils the requirements established in the terms and conditions of the award and who received a qualification of "sobresaliente cum laude". The doctoral thesis must be original and unpublished and Befesa reserves the right to publish it if they deem it appropriate.
