Befesa participates in the World Water Expo in Mexico

The World Water Expo, held simultaneously with the 4th World Water Forum, was held from March 16 to 21 in Mexico. The aim thereof was to present the best practices and equipment and technology solutions to face up to the world's water problems.

This exposition is the most important of its kind worldwide, as a large number of companies from different countries participate with a view to offering innovative solutions to government representatives from the water sector, businessmen, industrial buyers and national and international researchers. The participating companies are involved in wastewater treatment, water purification and distribution systems, irrigation control systems, filtering, chemical engineering, hydraulic engineering, electricity generation, and water pumping, among others. In addition, academic institutions also participated, as did associations and organizations related with the environment and water.

Befesa Construcción y Tecnología Ambiental, represented by Carlos Cosín, Joaquin Fernandez de Piérola, Rosdemy Cerón and Aranzazu Mencia, and Abengoa México, represented by Norberto del Barrio and Ricardo Sanchez, participated in the World Water Exposition with a stand which detailed the most important projects executed to date: desalination and treatment plants. The stand was in the Spain pavilion which had been organized by the ICEX and the Ministry of the Environment.

During the course of the Forum and Exposition, Befesa had the opportunity of holding meetings with potential customers from the Mexico water market, municipal authorities and companies from the sector. Given the enormous participation by Spanish authorities, among whom we would mention the Minister for the Environment, Ms Cristina Narbona, and Spanish companies such as Canal de Isabel II, Emasesa, and the Spanish Association for Desalination and Water Reuse, the Expo served to consolidate and further contacts within the Spanish sector as well as in countries such as Nicaragua, Honduras, Algeria and China, and to establish new business opportunities.
