Befesa participates in the AEAS´ (Spanish Water Supply and Treatment Association) 25th Technical Conference

Befesa, through its Environmental Engineering subsidiaries - Befesa Construcción y Tecnología Ambiental (member of the AEAS), Befesa Fluidos, Codesa, and Agua y Gestión - participated in the AEAS’ (Spanish Water Supply and Treatment Association) 25th Technical Conference that was held in Palma de Majorca fro May 25 to 27. The event brought together, in the capital of the Balearic Isles, some 700 professionals from the sector from all over Spain, including companies, specialized technicians, and researchers and, in general, anyone interested in innovative solutions, technologies, systems and equipment for integral water and environmental management.

Befesa’s commitment to the environment and sustainability lead Befesa to attend these conferences It organized a booth where CDs, videos, panels and photographs explained its activities in the water-world (water supply, purification, irrigation systems, hydroelectric power plants, and water desalination and treatment), and demonstrated, once again, its competitiveness in this sector.

The AEAS is currently an organization that groups together companies and institutions that are responsible for bringing water to 74 percent of the population of Spain. It was established in 1971, the year in which the AGM of members of the Spanish Committee of the International Water Supply Association (IWSA) agreed to set up a national water supply association as an answer and solution to the needs to promote the activities related with said sector, establish contact between people and bodies dedicated to these works and participate in international organizations involved therein.

Since 1980, the Association’s conference has been held every year. At the same, different conference papers dealing with technical and management, and legal and current day topics related with the Integral Water Cycle are presented and discussed. In addition, the conferences enable mutual communication between all those interested in water supply and treatment, are a starting-out point for new studies and are complemented with a Water Technological Showroom, where companies dedicated to the fabrication or supply of systems, equipment and products related with this activity are represented.

Agua y Gestión, a company established in 2003, in which the shareholders are Befesa and Codesa, together with the Ayesa Group, Itsmo´94, and El Monte de Piedad y Caja de Ahorros de Sevilla y Huelva, manages the supply for a population of 150,000.
