Befesa Fluidos achieves ISO 14001:2004 certification for Environmental Management Systems

Befesa Fluidos, a subsidiary of Befesa, has achieved the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certificate from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, an ENAC accredited company. The certificate verifies that Befesa Fluidos takes environmental criteria into account in the design and engineering of the installations that it creates and obliges all its personnel to take the appropriate control and protection measures for the environment in which it operates, according to the requirements established by law.

The activities that were subject to the audit and subsequent certification were the design, engineering, construction and provision of management services for turn-key installation projects in the environmental, chemical, electronic and industrial sectors in general. Befesa Fluidos previously certified its quality management system on 20 February 1998 also through Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance.

Befesa Fluidos specialises in industrial water treatment for the private sector, both for water inputs as well as processing and wastes, and its business is complemented with other activities such as dust removal and the treatment of slag fly ashes in thermal plants.

Finally, it is important to note that environmental quality and management have always been part of every Befesa activity and the new trends in the use of standardised quality systems in business management are being incorporated into the Group's companies.
