Internal Communications

Communication is an essential element in the Befesa philosophy and at the same time indispensable for the involvement of the people who form a part of the company for fulfilling the mission, objectives and customer-orientation mission. The following are among the most outstanding means of communication:

    • Employee portal

      This was started up in 2003, and is used for the internal, expeditious and universal dissemination of all information and knowledge on the business groups, society and people comprising the organization. The employee portal is structured into different modules containing aspects such as organization charts, history, news, relevant events, quality, environment, innovation projects and the activities of the different companies. It also enhances the exchange of opinions and suggestions among employees on the virtual notice board. It also allows the downloading from the work area of all corporate applications used each day, and it is possible to access all management systems needed for professional work, as well as the various human resources processes with regard to management and personnel.

    • Welcome handbook

      Befesa has a plan for welcoming and integrating its companies, in order to welcome new workers, facilitate their adaptation and offer them a global view of the company. This handbook provides information that is useful and valuable to new employees, since it provides a brief and simple explanation of the activities, structure and internal system. For rapid and updated access to the contents of these handbooks by the various companies, a specific section has been created in the human resources section of the employee portal.

    • People Center

      This may be accessed through the employee portal. This tool allows the following consultations:

      • Viewing and printing of pay slips
      • Viewing of work schedules
      • Possibility of changing bank and personal data
      • Possibility of distributing the amount of the salary over several accounts (directly including the percentage or amount)
      • Viewing of Personal Income Tax, issuing of the certificate and possibility of increasing the legal rate
      • Service for consultations and frequently-asked questions (FAQ) in all areas
      • Possibility of requesting advances
      • Service for consultation and management of own affairs with respect to Labor Relations
    • Internal newsletter

      The newsletter published by Abengoa every two months, in Spanish and English, contains a section reserved for Environmental Services, which is where Befesa collects the most important news relating to its activity, ranging from works and project awards to attendance to conferences, trade fairs, awards and corporate responsibility actions. Furthermore Befesa, due to its commitment to research, development and innovation, always includes an article with the latest news and research being carried out in its facilities. This newsletter is drawn up thanks to employee contributions, and is found in work centers and in digital form in the employee portal and on the Abengoa website.
